Review by Rik

Annemieke Westerman makes great products. You will find 3 felt-based covers that we love all over our house (for tablet, e-reader and phone), but our story started when I wanted a cover for my iPhone 5. The phone was just out and mainstream producers did not have a fitting cover yet (or at least not one that pleased me). In my search I stumbled on Etsy and found Ragz.nl, Annemieke’s company (soon to be renamed to Westerman Bags). Not only did she have iPhone 5 covers from day 1, but she was also keen to modify one at my request: I wanted one of her leather covers, but with a red felt lining which she didn’t supply yet. I was thrilled with the result the moment it arrived and it has lived happily in my back pocket ever since. It wears beautifully with age as the folowing picture shows:

But life is tough in the back-pocket and as you can see, the corners tend to crease because there is loose material due to the rounded corners of the iPhone inside the rectangular shape of the cover. So I contacted Annemieke to see if she could be tempted to make one for me with rounded corners instead and once again she was more than willing to try one out for me!

The result is magnificent:

When you see the picture, it’s hard to believe the new cover will in time reach that same lovely patina as my old cover, but I’m sure it will. I can testify that the quality of the stitching has improved even further. You do still see some creasing in the corners (which could perhaps be fixed by making the corners even rounder and hugging the phone even closer) but I’m very happy with the way it has turned out!

I sincerely hope Westerman Bags will remain a small and flexible company, able to cater to clients specific design needs. And should she grow as huge as she deserves to be (should she so wish…), I hope that the individual treatment and love of the product she makes today will remain as the solid core of her business!

Thank you Annemieke!
